Over The Rainbow: The Fairy Wings Sewing Pattern and Tutorial
This is a sewing pattern PDF (not the finished garment) for the Fairy Wings. The sewing pattern includes full instructions for you to print out OR view online, AND a video tutorial hosted on You Tube – watch the video below now.
The materials list includes details of where to buy all you will need. All the products used are affordable and the wings are a cheap and easy make.
Your little girl will love to twirl about in these dress up in these Fairy Wings.
There are 3 sizes of wings; –
Small – approx age 3-5 years
Medium – approx age 6-8 years
Large – approx age 9 – 15 years
My model is wearing the medium size and is age 7 years.
There is only one seam so that the inside is smooth and there are no scratchy itchy seam allowances or labels.
They are great for imaginative play.
Beginner: There is some sewing and some ‘colouring in’ need to make the wings.

These shimmering iridescent Fairy Wings can be made in 3 sizes
SIZES—actual finished measurements
Ages 3-6 7-9 10-15 years
Nape to wrist 45 50 55 cm
Length (max) 77.5 85 97.5 cm
The wings can be hand washed at 30 degrees when finished. Hang to dry do not iron.
The Paper Sewing Pattern includes making instructions leaflet and will be sent by post – P&P will be added at checkout.

You will receive a zipped file
(you can google instructions for opening zipped files on your MAC or PC.)
The zipped file contains 8 PDF files – these are;
1) The pattern to print at home on US Letter size or A4 paper size. (1 each of 3 sizes) You will need to stick the pieces of pattern together.
2) The pattern in A0 size . This can be printed in Black and White at your local or online copy shop. You won’t need to stick the pattern together as it will be printed on one sheet. (The large size is on 2 sheets)
3) The Making Instructions which comprise of complete photographic instructions to make the garment. This can also be printed in US Letter size or A4 paper size – or viewed on screen.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open the pattern files.
