Intro

I offer professional knitting and crochet tech editing services for designers, publishers, and independent makers. I specialise in creating clear, accurate, well-structured patterns — with a particular focus on garments.

Training & Certification

I have completed knitting and crochet tech editing training with Carol at Cool Wool, and I bring a strong background in fashion design and pattern cutting to every project.

Because of this, I particularly enjoy working on garments, though I am happy to tech edit accessories, toys, and homeware too.

Experience

From 1981 to 2017, I worked primarily as a hand knitting and crochet designer, writing and grading my own patterns.

My portfolio represents only a small selection of the hundreds of designs I’ve created over the years, beginning with my first design — the Foxglove Jacket — which appeared on the front cover of Pins and Needles magazine in 1981.

Portfolio & Recent Work

More recently, I completed an MA in Contemporary Crafts at Hereford College of Art, returning to my other love: sewing and pattern cutting.

Today, I work across:

  • Knitting and crochet pattern design

  • Knitting and crochet tech editing

  • Sewing pattern design (children’s wear and developing adult ranges)

My knit and crochet patterns are available through this website, as well as Etsy, Ravelry, and LoveCrafts.
