United States Flag Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

This is the knitting pattern for an american flag tea cozy.

Worked in Aran weight (worsted) yarn it has embroidered stars.

MATERIALS
Use an Aran weight (US Worsted) yarn that has a knit tension of 18 sts and 25 rows over stocking stitch on 5 mm (UK/Canada/Aus no.6, US no.8) needles.
I used King Cole Merino Blend Aran (80m/88yds per 50g ball), 1 x 50g ball each of shades 9 Scarlet, 776 Aran (you need approx 1/2 ball), and 769 Navy (you need approx 1/4 ball).

This yarn has now been discontinued. I suggest as an alternative Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Aran(180m/197yds per 100g ball), 1 ball each of
shades 802 Champagne White, 840 Royal Blue, and 813 Rose Red.

SIZE
This Cozy will fit a small – medium size Tea Pot. The width of the cosy is approx 37.5 cm all round and 16 cm high. (Not including the bobble)

To Substitute  make sure your yarn knits to a tension of tension of 18 sts and 24 rows to 10 cm.
